Wildflower Meadow Mix - Wetlands
Context: Wetlands such as marshes, swamps and ponds
Objectives: Stabilize soils, improve water filtration, provide food and habitat for aquatic wildlife and birds
Constraints: Waterlogged soils, tolerance to low oxygen levels in the soil
Mix description:
The Wetlands mix is designed for sites in full sun where the soil remains waterlogged or saturated for extended periods, particularly in areas with very poor drainage. It establishes a stable native plant cover in environments where excess moisture makes conventional plantings difficult to maintain.
Composed of species adapted to saturated soils, this mix forms a dense and durable vegetation cover while providing staggered blooms from spring through fall. It helps strengthen wetland environments by stabilizing soils, improving water filtration, and supporting the biodiversity that depends on these habitats. Selected species typically reach 45 to 150 cm in height, creating a natural planting that is both functional and structured.
If your soil is clayey but generally workable and not permanently saturated, choose the Clay Soils mix. For soils that remain waterlogged or saturated for long periods, select the Wetlands mix.
Each packet covers approximately 100 square feet.
