Combo containing 4 of Philippe’s top picks, seed grower and founder of Akène.
These four native species with ornamental value attract pollinators and promote biodiversity.
- Canada milk vetch, because it is a fabaceae worth discovering, one that fixes nitrogen and whose root has both culinary and medicinal properties. Its flowers are a source of nectar for pollinators, while its seeds provide food for birds.
- Canada tick trefoil, because it is another nitrogen-fixing fabaceae that is little known. Reaching up to 1.25 metres in height, it displays magnificent pink flowers from July to August, which are irresistible to pollinators.
- Hairy beardtongue, because it is an original native plant that combines beauty and usefulness, acting as a trap plant to attract beneficial predators and parasites, helping with the natural control of pests in the garden.
- Slender mountainmint, because it is a lovely aromatic perennial that deserves more attention. Its clusters of white to pinkish flowers are highly attractive to pollinators while also offering an ornamental appeal.
