We are pleased to introduce the products of Gourmet Sauvage, a Quebec-based company that has been a pioneer in showcasing the plants and flavours of the boreal forest. For over 25 years, it has been offering exceptional wild products, harvested responsibly by hand and crafted with artisanal expertise. Their unique creations allow for the rediscovery of Quebec’s rich terroir through a sustainable and authentic approach.

Elderberry Jelly

Although wild elderberry is very common and the shrub is widely cultivated, its fruit is still relatively unknown.

Harvested for its medicinal properties since ancient times, elderberry is slowly making its way onto our tables — and those who discover it quickly become fans!

Elderberry jelly has a unique flavour and texture. Its tart red-fruit notes contrast beautifully with its particularly silky mouthfeel, making it an exquisite artisanal jelly.

Ingredients

Elderberries, an incredible source of antioxidants!

This shrub, whose fruits grow in clusters, is popular among landscapers because it is as beautiful in bloom as it is when bearing fruit.

Foodies and people concerned with nutrition also favour this tree as the fruit are tasty and very nutritious.

They top most other fruit: as much as nine times more antioxidants than blueberries, plenty of Vitamin C, phosphorus, iron, potassium and riboflavin are a few of the many vitamins and minerals the fruit contains.

Elderberry jelly is handmade in small quantities at a time and with a minimum of organic sugar. Enjoy!

Using elderberry jelly

Foodies will appreciate the festive taste and the silky texture of elderberry jelly at breakfast but also with plenty of salty dishes:

  • In gourmet sandwiches
  • to accompany cheeses
  • with foie gras and patés
  • in a chocolate layer cake
